Hi!
I think that if Ubuntu runs too slowly for you, you should probably try
using Xubuntu, which is better for older computers. Xubuntu really is a
great operating system, but its main problem is that it doesn't look quite
as nice as Ubuntu or Kubuntu. If you don't mind that, Xubuntu is very fast
for older computers.
I also started out with Windows, because nearly everyone else in my life
used it. Around 2007, I discovered Ubuntu, and it literally changed the way
that I thought of computers. I haven't used Windows in about almost a year,
and I love it! Linux really is great, and I think you'll like it more and
more as you keep using it.
