Oh, there is nothing really wrong using Jaunty. Especially if your 
hardware doesn't work with previous releases there is hardly anything 
else to use.

Good, then Jaunty can't be that bad :)

No, I meant your video problem with Jaunty.

The commands I sent to you was just fetching the latest updates and 
restart kdm. With that update came the missing part (whatever was 
missing - I'm not sure what the real problem was).

I don't suggest to install something else now, it is too late for that. 
a) You wrote that your hardware doesn't work with previous releases. b) 
It would waste a lot of time to reinstall with a previous version now 
and upgrade to Jaunty in a month. Just be prepared to have some more 
problems. And if there are problems don't panic, be patient and check 
for updates every few hours.
