Nvidia drivers under 8.10 under VMware Fusion

Is anyone out there using Kubuntu 8.10 under VMware?  I am on a MAC  
Macbook pro which has an NVIDIA card and I have been presuming I could  
install the NVIDIA drivers.  No luck.

Unfortunately lspci says the video card is a simulated card of  
VMware's so maybe this is not to be.

Is there any other way to get OpenGL?
