getting Fn and multimedia keys working in kde4

No but your not alone.
Some keys that worked before don't work anymore. For me it looks like
QT/KDE has added some extra layer and blocking some keys that X or the
kernel driver know about.
For me it I think it started with the upgrade to KDE 4.2.x.
