I think 9.04 is great--I love the boot times. Using KDE 3.5.10 on
jaunty works well for me, you might try that instead of switching to
gnome. I'll be upgrading the rest of my family to Jaunty/3.5.10 soon.
They are all on Intrepid/3.5.10.
I just spent some time trying KDE 4.2.3. Konqueror was there but
middle-click didn't work, their were only 3 views in the file browser.
Ugh.
