You know that Bob Young (of Red Hat Fame) when he retired set up Lulu.
He's a heckuva guy personally. He was always for the users. The "Boxed
Set" wasn't dropped until after he left. I think his premise was that to
earn the hearts and minds of the new users, you could then count on a
degree of loyalty after they become the next-gen admins. I think that
Mark Shuttleworth understands that thinking far better than that Fedora
effort RedHat has now. Me, I just want stuff to work, so I can do my
work and contribute something back, by paying forward. Too many desktop
surprises interferes with that process.
