Is there a package I should install to use xine embedded in other applications?

The new test user account, which is working ok, is a member of dialout,
cdrom, floppy, audio, video, plugdev and lpadmin.
My regular user account (the problematic one) is a member of all these
plus games, users, syslog, admin, sambashare, vboxusers and pulse.
I will start to copy the contents of the problematic profile to a fresh
new one until it breaks, so I can find out what causes this problems.
I'll post the results here later.

Thanks,

Marcelo
