KMail does not take over the original text when anwsering

Did you perhaps change the standard templates for your mails? Go to 
"Settings" -> "Configure KMail ..." -> "Composer". At the "Standard 
Templates" tab there are templates for "New Message", "Reply to Sender", 
"Reply to All / Reply to List" and "Forward Message". Check all of them 
and make sure they are what you want them to be. But there are other 
places with templates: Go to "Settings" -> "Configure KMail ..." -> 
"Identities". For each identity make sure you didn't enable custom 
templates. And for each mail folder you can set custom templates if you 
right-click on the folder and select "Properties".
