no sound in firefox/flash

Hi,

my sound is working fine except through flash in firefox (youtube for 
examples). I googled it a little and found that other people had this problem.
(I am on kubuntu9.04-64).

I do not have pulseaudio installed.

lspci | grep Audio
00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio

any ideas?
