In kde4 the only thing in the config file is the taskbar info & desktop 
icon shortcuts etc, I have looked at being less aggressive in deleting 
files but honestly in 4.x there is very little info in the config file 
these days. One point I would make is that once you have your taskbar 
restored lock the taskbar widgets as it is way to easy to delete.
