In searching the archives for information on PPA and Key installations, I was
not successful. Is there a way to search the entire archive on a single
subject?
I always have trouble installing PPA and Keys. Currently when I kdesudo
aptitude update, I get the following at the bottom of the CLI:
W: GPG error: http://ppa.jaunty Release: The following signatures couldn't be
verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY 3B22AB97AF1CDFA9
W: GPG error: http://ppa.launchpad.net jaunty Release: The following
signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available:
NO_PUBKEY C5E6A5ED249AD24C
W: You may want to run apt-get update to correct these problems
apt-get update gets the same results. I went to the following site to get
them http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1056099
I was able to enter the PPA, but did not know how to proceed to install the
key.
I found a site where someone had written a script that looks like it will help
me entering PPA's and Keys. It is located at:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1056099
When I follow their instructions:
sudo apt-get install libhtml-parser-perl libio-socket-ssl-perl
that part installs OK, however when I continue with the instructions, the
launchpad-ppa-fix.tar.gz does not install.
The whole code instruction is as follows:
wget http://savvas.radevic.com/launchpad/launchpad-ppa-fix.tar.gz -O launchpad-
ppa-fix.tar.gz
tar xzvf launchpad-ppa-fix.tar.gz
perl launchpad-ppa-fix.pl
sudo apt-get update
rm launchpad-ppa-fix.tar.gz launchpad-ppa-fix.pl
I have downloaded and saved to my Documents folder the following: File Type:
gz launchpad-ppa-fix.tar.gz (2.7 KB, 80 views)
I attempted to open it using Ark, created a folder of the name Documents >
'launchpad-ppa-fix.tar.gz' but I got an error 'a' with a big red X.
Unless an automated process is included in adding a PPA, I screw up every
time. I have failed many times searching for the answer. Thanks for any help
you may provide me.
