Refer to article on latest alpha of Karmic

So I guess the problem is the transition to remove usplash where
autologin is part of the optional log in screen.
But the issue I like to bring up is this. Even with the latest upgrades,
the usplash is still here. I have a nigging feeling that if I were to
download and install the latest alpha, it would not have the usplash
screen (and autologin will not be an issue). This suspicion is also from
my past experience where a reinstallation of some kubuntu version is
somewhat different from my previous installation of same version where I
had faithfully updated and upgraded through various alpha's.
Does anybody have any comment?
