Hello, Lindsay --

Thanks for your comments.  When I again do "apt-get update", there are a 
lot of hits followed by --

E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock - open (11 Resource temporarily 
unavailable)
E: Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is 
another process using it?

At the time of execution, I had ONLY Kmail open. Comments?
