that command is confusing apt-get. Try running this to install the b43-
fwcutter package, which will download and copy the needed firmware
files to the correct places:
$ sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter
Leave off the extra text you added, apt does not understand that
portion. It is looking at your command as a set of packages to install,
and "-w /lib/firmware ~Desktop/wl_apsta.o." is not a package name or
option string for apt.
Have you tried the Restricted Driver Manager, found in the System
section of the K-menu? It should simplify the process for you.

part of the problem is the extreme abundance of forum posts, blogs,
wiki pages, email list archives, etc making it really difficult to weed out
what is relevant to you and the exact version of Kubuntu you are using.
Sometimes the exact package names changes as the years go by (or
months even), so searching for problems it is important to see you are
getting the newest dates possible, or try first searching
help.ubuntu.com or wiki.ubuntu.com first as it may be easier to find
the latest info.
As an example, in more recent versions, there is no package called
ndiswrapper-utils, it is now called ndiswrapper-utils-1.9 (!??!). This is
why using a gui package manager still has plenty of advantages and
uses ;)
