I don't think you are. Some of the above apps are KDE3, and the 
Kubuntu Device Database has not been around for quite a few years. 
Adept has not been included for the past few releases.

There has been a b43-fwcutter available since 8.04, so you must be 
running a very, very old version. I am not even sure if the kernel you 
have even supports Broadcom wifi cards, and if it does it would take a 
fair amount of work to gt it working.

If you run the command

$ uname -r

we can see which kernel you have, which will also let us know what 
version of Kubuntu you have
