You*have*  installed the restricted-extras and libdvdcss2? (BTW,
another one to try is xine.=

I had installed 'restricted extras' but not libdvdcss2 and KPackageKIt
doesn't find it. I will search further afield.

mplayer dvd://1
  did this and mplayer reports:

so I guess that's the problem. Is there likely to be a
repo that I can get to to pick this libdvdcss2 out of,
does anybody know?
