ubuntu 10.04 and nvidia-current 195.36.24 start in low resolution mode

And it happened again, in spite of I have activated nvidia 173.

Then I did:

Ctrl+shift+f1

Then logged in with my username and password.

Then I ran:

sudo restart kdm

and it fixed the problem, but it seems as the problem is still there, not 
so good for newbies *smile*
