This may sound nuts, but I found that at times I have to open and close
the scanner lid part to recycle "something". I know, not very techie but
once I do that, something grinds and whirs and I'm able to scan. I
loathe the amount of ink my HP 1510 eats, but it's a fine scanner. Ric
