Where does a sysadmin change the default login to gnome? - They might
want to do that for consistency.

These are for a computer programming class.  

One student has asked that GVIM be installed.

I thought the KDE system should be installed, to give students
experience with what had been, historically, the leading GNU(Linux) GUI
system.
