Which USB Scanners work?

As I'm still with Jaunty I can't swear it will work with Mint 7 or Lucid, but 
I guess a Linux printer is a Linux printer.
I'm using an *HP Photosmart C4280* with no problem except that the scanning 
button on the printer does not work and I must first open Xsan in order to 
scan.
