My previous experience with KDE was in a different distro and everything
was *.rpm. I have never used kubuntu - because of KDE, which I got to
dislike intensely :-) and this made me make the connection with kubuntu
and *.rpm :-) . OK, I learnt something today :-) .

The daughter of my bestest friend worked for a Certain world-wide known
Company in Europe. I won't mention the name, of Course. The horror
stories she related one Christmas over dinner made me drop my jaw.
Elementary management responsibilities which I learnt when at university
(like Accounting Control, Internal Auditing) were not being practised.
She saved this company millions of euros when she picked up on this
managerial idiocy - and she didn't even read any Accounting subjects
while at university! And while she was earning tens of thousands of
euros in salary her salary was greatly less than the people over her....

But getting back on track, Canon will not only not write drivers to work
with Linux but will not provide details for people like SANE to write
the drivers. The very short list of drivers which have been written for
Canon by SANE have been created it seems by people taking apart a Canon
product and looking at the chipsets used in them. Way to go C !

No problemo.

Glad to have been of help.

Enjoy the V300. I certainly do.
