Updating from 8.04 LTS -- incrementally or jump or not at all?

For Kubuntu there isn't a supported upgrade path from Hardy anymore (it was through Intrepid). We did, however test direct Hardy to Lucid upgrades. I'd back up your data and try that path. Direct Hardy to Natty upgrades are very likely to be problematic. Once you make it to Lucid, the supported upgrade path is to Maverick and the Natty.
