flash stopped working on my computer

I cant get flash to work on either chrome or fire fox, after the last update it just doesnt register being there on either web browser, no crash report Just doesnt acnolegde it being there
any help would be appreciated I am extreamally frustrated with this, this has been the first time since 8.04 that theings broke for no reason after an update
