Kubuntu-Kmail external editor fails...

Good afternoon...

I have used the Jed editor in Kmail for several years, but the new Natty seems 
to have broken something and now the export from Kmail is in HTML regardless 
of which editor I use externally. 

My settings in the external editor are "konsole -e jed %f". If I use xterm 
with XJed I still get the HTML instead of ASCII. 

Any thoughts or ideas would be gratefully accepted.
