Check out these Launchpad bugs...

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/999910

Many people have experienced an ongoing issue that I'm still not sure has been
completely solved. My ThinkPad X1 never freezes; my T520 freezes constantly.
Their configurations are almost identical, with a couple exceptions:

* T520 has Optimus graphics, which I've disabled (using only Intel)
* T520 sports some USB devices: keyboard, mouse, headset

Despite trying various kernels and i915 module parameters, I still experiences
freezes. I can reliably duplicate it by moving my mouse too rapidly or making
a VoIP call with my USB headset.
