Yes it's peculair because within minutes of me posting that email the message re-appeared on the website with the information that it's in the kubuntu-ppa. The one I saw yesterday definitely said backports because I copy-and-pasted the add-apt-ppa line right into my terminal.

Ah well, it's there now and seems to be working. Mysterious :D
