Something else weird: before I logged out after the upgrade, I had several apps running. After
logging back in and getting a brand new desktop :-( all my previous running apps were still
running but not on the desktop - I mean could see them as running processes under 'System
Activity' (Ctrl + Esc) but not accessible on the desktop. I had to 'kill' them in the end as I
was getting window titles with the app name plus a number 2 (meaning it was the second instance
of said running app).
I'm not sure what is going on but maybe better to wait a while before doing any updates/upgrades.
