Hello

Sometime I reached such an issue
My solution is :

 1. Save my bookmarks either in .html or .json file (may be both)
 2. Stop Firefox
 3. Rename .mozilla directory (example : mv .mozilla DOTmozilla)
 4. Close my cession
 5. Start a new cession
 6. Start Firefox
 7. Restore my bookmarks from backup file

NB : Solution is heavy but started a clean environment for the current
Firefox release
NB : When result is not as expected it's possible to go back to old
status by moving back your DOTmozilla directory to .mozilla

I apologize for my poor English. I'm French
Hope this help
