Just for information. Since the arrival of (K)ubuntu 12.04 Cheese crashes on start-up with a seg fault, so I've installed Kamoso in lieu and it works just fine. However, when I attempted to remove Cheese (via Synaptic) it insists that Gnome Desktop additionally be completely removed. This seems a trifle like overkill to me so I've left well alone. :-) Peter HB
