Yes, good idea [#].

But, what is the card? Is it nVidia? and if so be aware that it would 
need a nVidia driver otherwise you may have trouble booting into your 
system. Explanation to follow if need be.

Oh, please don't forget to switch off the onboard chip in the BIOS when 
you install the card.

[#] I say, "good idea" because when I put my new system together last 
April I initially used the onboard LAN chip. But then I did a stupid 
thing and blew that chip (I think) :-( . I installed a 1GB PCIe nic and 
all was well after then.
