Device notifier, CDs and 13.10

I've recently upgraded to 13.10 and am no longer seeing the device
notifier pick up when a cd has been inserted - just says 'No devices
available' - is this just me or is there a general problem?

If I open k3b that sees the cd correctly and its tracks, amarok doesn't
see it at all - maybe it's more closely tied to the notifier?
