Didn't fix it for me (dropped back to a console and reconfigured laptop
for DHCP on eth0, then ran updates). I'll be backing off my data and
re-installing from 04/09 daily later this morning. Not particularly
happy about this. Yes I know, living on the bleeding edge &c. but if it
can happen this late in the game, and on an LTS...
