input device freezing in kubuntu 14.04

[Bsmipad]

I'm running 14.04 on an AMD64 machine with PS2 keybd but also a non-wireless Logitec Marble mouse.   Have not had any such hangs.   Sounds like it might be some other hardware problem.  Memory?
