Yes, it took me about a week of sticking with 14.04
before it settled down. I am not sure yet that it is
working right. Although it has been running now for
several days (12 days and counting). I don't know for
sure if the uptime is counting through reboots or
after a reboot.
It seems that AMD64 is a red-headed stepchild for some
reason.
I could never an exact fix on what was causing the freeze,
because what I was running or not running varied.
You could not get past the start of a boot and it
froze, while I at least got to the KDM and ran a
program or two before it froze.
Hopefully, they will fix it soon. I know that the
debug report window would open and allow me to send
the failure report.
As to whether or not it actually arrived, well,
your guess is as good as mine. However, it is running
better at the moment.
