problems migrating to kmail 4.11

I've been putting off migrating from kmail 4.4 (it wored!) but am now forced to
upgrade my systems.

I've moved/imported my existing maiils to the proper folders, however I cannot
configure the sending using the pop3 I was using before.  first because I don't
know where on the older systems those settings are to copy and move, second
because kmail won't let me set them manually.

I've tried researching the issues on the web and can't get any answers to the
first question, and the second one, when I can find any info, is describing a
process I'm not seeing.

Anyone have info and advice for me?
