wireless reconnection

Using kubuntu 12.04 LTS

I turned off my Verizon MiFi access point. Now I cannot find anyway, short
of rebooting, to reconnect after turning the access point device back on.
The access point works since I can connect to it from another box. I have
checked to connect automatically, which is what I want when booting.
