why do I have vmlinuz-3.13.0-44-generic but not initrd.img-3.13.0-44-generic (32bit)

Why do I have vmlinuz-3.13.0-44-generic but not 
initrd.img-3.13.0-44-generic (32bit)?  Same thing happened with 
3.13.0-43.
