Yakkety Final weekend testing ISOs

I've been using Yakkety for over a week and it has been one of the best releases I've seen yet.
I've had only one strange problem (Amd64 version). When I boot/reboot my machine, DNS fails to work locally. I have a local DNS cache server that has been working for years. After a boot I can get addresses outside of my network but not locally.
Ok, you say this might be my problem and I might agree with that. However I have never had problems with this setup and everything looks normal.
How do I fix the problem? All I have to do to carry on is to edit the /etc/resolv.conf file, without any changes, and file it. And I'm good to go. No changes whatever anywhere.
I've tried to track down what does change with the edit but haven't seen any differences.
