works perfectly on my Asus W5A... thank you! :-)
I've one additional feature request: to inform the user about the
current profile when the user press the power4gear key. Ideally it
could be handled by pre-selecting the current state. Opnionally, a
single label saying the current state is enough.
Let'me say that I had already opened an issue[1] at bugzilla to
improve the acpi-support, taking care of:
a) enabling/disabling the touchpad via Fn+F9
b) switching between LCD/CRT/LCD+CRT video modes via Fn+F8

/me waiting for a good ubuntu developer soul to include these
improvements in the next acpi-support package version... ;-)
