screen blanking/lock screen

hi all,

The thinkpad T43 is working really nicely with Breezy. One thing I've
noticed after recent upgrades: the lockscreen key and closing the lid
used to result in a locked screen, now it just results in a blanked
screen. Is this something to do with the gnome-screensaver /
xscreensaver confusion? Is it intentional? Is a bug in order?
