reboot problem

I have the same problem on a Sony VAIO. It was reported as a bug here 
(http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16244) a few days ago ...

Also - I have this problem 
(http://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=16251) with the hard disk 
LED staying permanently on, even with no activity. I'm running  very 
latest kernel (Breezy), and have tried several things to rectify the 
reboot problem, to no avail.

Per - one thing I would try, is using the "System" -> "Shutdown" option, 
rather than reboot... I find this works more reliably (reboot always 
hangs, shutdown works some of the time).

Sorry to hear you are having the same problem, but at the same time... 
I'm glad someone else can confirm the problems I am seeing ... safety in 
numbers and all that!!

Hopefully someone will find and release a fix soon...
