Hi all,

I have been trying the beta version of dapper on a amilo M1450G.

I have tested the live version:

first it didn't boot with the start ubuntu, after a while it hangs, I tried
several ctr-alt-f but i couldn't get any error message, it was completely
blocked.

then I tried to boot in safe graphics mode, and it works !!
During the boot process the splash screen of tux appears completely
destroyed but Gnome starts well. The graphics quality is as good as windows
:-)

Previously i did an installation of the breezy badger, but it hangs on the
hotplug detection, I had to blacklist the intel-hda components. I also tried
the tricks on the forum in order to enable the sound device but i never
succeeded.

With the last version the sound chip is recognise, but no sound is played
back ???? any idea ?

memory stick are well recognised and works fine,
wifi also.

I have found in the forum a way to upgrade my install of breezy to dapper
but as rhere is the video problem at startup does anyone of you know how i
could solve it? Do i need to reboot with a knoppix in order to be able to
change an init file ?

I have quite some times those days to test it but as i am a newbie in linux
i would need some support in order not to be blocked in front of a black
screen :-)

regards
vincent
