Suggestions for lightweight laptops

I am using a Satellite A45 a2501
Pentium 4 - 2.80 GHZ
1 gig ram
15 inch 1024x768 running Fiesty 7.04
Sound works, Athro Wireless after loading windows drivers , onboard 
ethernet works.
Battery life same as windows about 2 hrs max.
Touch pad only issue is really touchy. Overall
Ubuntu works really nice on this machine. I have not tried the modem. 
Dvd burner works also.
