will Acer TravelMate 6292 be supported?

Hi,

I'm using a AcerTravelMate6292 and dearly want to move over to Ubuntu.
Unfortunately it don't seem to be supported, consulting this page

How can I find out if or when it will be? Or can I do something myself to
help it on it's way?
