Rosetta - finding adequate words

Hello,
it has to be annoying for users to see in an application the word Exit and
in another application the word Leave, for the same meaning. With this in
mind, translated applications can become even more annoying since a guy
translates an application with a word in mind and another guy translates
parts of that same application with other word in mind (for the same
meaning!).
So, inside an application, if we're not careful we can have for the word
"show" the portuguese "mostrar" and "apresentar" since different translators
work in the same application.
In that way, I would like to be able to search for what people have
translated for the word "show", for example. If, for that application, the
common criteria said it should be "mostrar", I would be inclined to respect
the criteria and the application would have more consistency.
Is there a kind of "search word/translated word", or could it be developed?
Thanks
