Launchpad email and ssl mailservers

I'm trying to register for a launchpad-account to be able to file a bug.

However ubuntu's mailserver (adelie.ubuntu.com) seems do have problems
sending an email to my address (leo at strike.wu-wien.ac.at).
It is trying to use TLS and fails during SSL handshake. My server logs
the following:

I'm using a self-signed certificate, maybe adelie fails because it
cannot verify the certificate chain?
