I have discovered what was forbidding me from fixing these series up for
you and done it this morning. Before breakfast. :-) Sorry for taking so
long to get this done.

Fixing this bug the right way would take serious effort that right now
is unavailable to us. I'd like to say this will change soon but I'm not
sure it will, in particular now that a workaround for it exists..
