Ubuntu Studio

Ok, first off all, I find Ubunto to be easy to use and I simply just like
it.
I am entirely new to Linux and have no idea about anythig.

The reason I write is the newly planned Ubuntu studio release.
Saw they were looking for people to help developing this.

I foundt this a very interesting idea, and would really like to help you
guys out.
The problem is.. . I am not a linux guru and know very little.

What I know IS: I have been working as a proffessional Producer / engineer
since 1994. I have produced loads of albums for international bands and I am
really good at what i do. (yeahyeah. . .. windows) Give me the daw of my
dreams and I can give you pure magic in return. So basically I know nothing
about making software, but I know everything about using software. I find
this ubuntustudio concept to be so interesting I would like to help in any
way I can. (cause I want you to make good fucking shit for artists like me
to benefit from*)

What I can help with is :

1. Testing your software and daw solutions - telling you what is working,
what is not working, maybe tell you how it should work so people will find
it easier to use.

2 Telling you guys what you will have to make to make this A PACKAGE
PROFFESSIONALS WOULD EVEN CONCIDER.
As you all hopefully know producers/engineers/musicians do not care
about platforms or anything. they just want
the stuff to simply work and to be able to make music instead of
tweaking systems. Ubuntu studio should be really easy to use. Even easier
than sonar and cubase (yeah i know them both extremely good - prefer sonar
then)

The reason I wish to help you guys is that i am a big fan of the entire
opensource community, and I know that is the future. I have done alot of
experimenting with ubuntu 6.10 and ardour. But that distro is not ready for
my purposes yet cause of that realtime kernel and me not knowing how to fix
that. really wish I knew more about linux. But basically . Hopefully I will
not need to know, cause if ubuntustudio is the system of my dreams
everything will just work and I can
use it to perform my magic from day 1. Also a major drawback is the pro
audio hardware assholes do not make drivers for linux. Someone have to
preasure them to do. know m-audio is doing it for swome of their cards. But
hell. they should all do that. all that sweet hardware i have lying around
in my studio cannot be used in my linux daw. So the main goal wshould nbebe
to get pro gear working in ubuntu studio igf we pros will be looking at it
as a serios alternative. I* WANT YOU TO SUCCED CAUSE I TOTALLY BELIVE IN
LINUX AND THE OPEN SOURCE COMMUNITY. YOU GUYS ARE THE FUTURE, SO PLEASE TELL
ME IF THERE IS ANY THING I CAN DO TO HELP EVEN IF I'M NOT A LINUX GEEK OR
ANYTHING. I'm just a big fan of youtr worka and i'm dreaming of the day i
can have my first PRO LINUX system up and trunnung.

Feel free to contact me at vrangsinn at gmail.com if i can do anything for you
to help make the future!!
.
