Welcome to the release note for Launchpad milestone 1.1.5! We've made
a number of incremental changes throughout all of Launchpad and some
significant improvements:
* Ubuntu translation will now open much earlier: we can now import the
translation files for a new version of Ubuntu without taking
Launchpad offline. This is fantastic news for Ubuntu translators as
it means we can open translations much earlier in each Ubuntu
version's development cycle.
* File downloads: project admins can now make binary files available
for download direct from Launchpad. For example: if you provide
Windows or Mac binaries for your project, your users can now download
them direct from Launchpad.
* Teams as support contacts: now, only a team's admin can set it as a
support contact.
* You can now jump straight to an Answer Tracker ticket but entering
its number in the Answer Tracker search box.
Work on Launchpad is now moving further forward than ever before! As
ever, we've got exciting plans for Launchpad throughout the rest of
2007. Each month, we'll release a new milestone version of Launchpad.
You can find links to what we have planned for each milestone at:

General Launchpad
=================
* Actions menu and other boxes now correctly display in middle of the
page in Opera 9.20. Tested in Opera 9.20, Internet Explorer 6,
Internet Explorer 7, Firefox 2.0.0.3, Konqueror 3.5.6, and Safari
1.3.2. (Bug 111429)
* Clicking 'Back to team' button on +join page for a restricted team is
now working properly. (Bug 97245)
* It is now possible for project administrators to link files to a
release thus allowing users to download files. These can be
documentation, installers, tarballs, etc.
* The password reset page now has a title. (Bug 110526)
* The page title on the users page now matches the displayed text for
people who do not use Launchpad. (Bug 110463)
* Erroneous text on the project registration page has been removed.
(Bug 112782)
Soyuz
=====
* Source build dependencies are now linked to binary packages instead
of source packages. This allows for easy .deb installation of
dependencies while still having access to the source package. (Bug
113282) e.g. https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/gutsy/+source/sqcwa
* Full package changelogs are now viewable and searchable. (Bug 48735)
e.g.
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/edgy/+source/linux-source-2.6.17/+changelog
* We have changed the data model so that there can be multiple
package archives for a single distribution. These additional archives
will be the technical basis for delivering PPA. (Spec archive-rework)
* Distribution build jobs now display a big red warning when they
fail to upload properly. (Bug 32261)
e.g. https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/gutsy/+builds?build_state=uploadfail
Code Hosting
===========
* The capitalisation of the "Edit Subscription" menu item was changed
to "Edit subscription" for consistency.
* Launchpad will now properly issue a 404 Not Found error when
attempting to access a non-existent branch. (Bug 102567)
* The release series overview page now displays proper capitalization
when referencing Bazaar. (Bug 99990)
* Users with non-ASCII names (e.g. Данило Шеган, Джои Joŝko Станфорд,
Joŝko Stanić) will now correctly receive email notifications for
actions such as commit messages.
* Launchpad now limits the amount of text displayed for mirror failures
on the branch index page. (Bug 105570)
* Launchpad now only allows .bzr directories to be created directly
beneath branch directories on the code hosting service. (Bug 53545)
* The "Register a branch" link on the code homepage now redirects
properly when clicked by an anonymous user. (Bug 102175)
* Several bugs in the code import function were fixed.
Bug Tracker
===========
* Attachment file size and mime-type are now displayed in bug reports.
(Bug 62357) e.g. "CoreDump.gz (266.3 KiB, application/x-gzip)"
* Launchpad now drops all incoming e-mail messages that have a
multipart/report content type. e.g. a bounce message (Bug 114384)
* Filing a bug from the product series page now results in the
expected behavior. (Bug 102862)
* Launchpad now correctly handles reports from older versions of Apport
(Bug 112315)
* It is now possible to close bugs by using a specifically formatted
changelog.
* White space is now stripped on the Bug Search form. Previously,
including any white spaces would alter the findings. (Bug 110658)
* The page title on the users page now matches the displayed text for
people who do not use Launchpad. (Bug 110463)
* When editing bugs, the appropriate status colour is now shown.
(Bug 111400)
Answer Tracker
==============
* The 'Request Support' page now displays the list of supported
languages by default. (Bug 75485)
* Wording on the "Change question status" page has been clarified.
(Bug 107396)
* The Answer Tracker now restricts registration and removal of team
answer contacts to team admins. (Bug 109652)
* The Answer Tracker now properly sets the date of last response upon
any user changing the status. This prevents tickets from prematurely
expiring. (Bug 113011)
* A typo in the Answers Tab tool-tip (Bug 106889) and a poorly worded
sentence when adding a question (Bug 112761) have been fixed.
* Email notifications that include a bug link now display the bug's
title. (Bug 111407)
* It is now possible to enter a ticket number on the main Answer
Tracker page and jump directly to that ticket. (Bug 77683)
* Obsolete cancel buttons where removed from UI. (Final item for bug
#73588)
Translations
============
* It is now possible for a translation group owner to change the
group's owner. (Bug 49751)
* The performance of the Translations .po parser, used when uploading
translations, has been greatly improved.
* Translations now has the ability to temporarily hide all translations
for a new distro release while they are being imported. This prevents
translators from translating text which will be overwritten.
(Bug 88873)
* Distro releases and products now have equal priority when performing
translation imports. (spec translation-import-queue-priorities)
* Launchpad no longer requires downtime to set up translations for new
distro releases.
* Translation administrators now have the ability to pause imports for
a specific distro release while performing administration duties.
This prevents the distro release from becoming corrupted. All other
projects and distro releases will function normally. (Bug 112314)
