That's a good point. I think we can solve this by:

*   Showing the description of the most recent versions of each binary
     package, produced by that source package, on the source package
     page. I reported this as a bug a few months ago.
     <https://launchpad.net/bugs/73116> For example,
     <https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/netspeed/0.13-1ubuntu1> shows
     netspeed's binary package description, which already includes the
     netspeed home page URL.

*   Auto-linking the URLs in package descriptions. I've just reported
     this. <https://launchpad.net/bugs/113748>

*   Reporting a bug whenever you come across a non-trivial binary
     package description that doesn't include the URL of the relevant
     project. That will be helpful in other places too (like Synaptic),
     not just Launchpad.
